Passion Play

A sharpened nail weaves and glides across a tanned, taunt back.
Beads of sweat drip carelessly into this dark desire.
But you saw her moving, you could have stood in her way.

The stage stands ruffled from the lust that shook this body down.
She slinks away into the wings, a purring from within.
But you saw her coming, you could have stopped where you were.

No sense of subtlety.
Actors in this passion play
It’s just a game to you – and me.

Passion, passion, passion play.
When there’s no time or care for honesty,
That’s when you’ll discover your acting ability.

The rhythm of this reasoned score pounds on through the night.
Her blonde mane waves these players on into a blind tempest.
But you knew she was a siren, you knew she would break you in two.

No sense of subtlety…

Passion, passion, passion play.
When there’s no time or care for honesty,
That’s when you’ll discover your acting ability.

When these curtains are finally drawn, the logic will set in.
The sweat will dry on naked flesh, the passion will subside.
You may well end your role, but you’ll never forget your lines.

No sense of subtlety . . .

Passion, passion, passion play.
When there’s no time or care for honesty,
That’s when you’ll discover your acting ability.
